La Paz Waterfall Gardens

After arrival at the Waterfall Gardens Welcome Center, proceed down to the Butterfly Observatory (the largest in the world) where you will be able to walk among the colorful butterflies and flowers. A number of informational signs provide basic facts about several butterfly species from Costa Rica and their lifecycles. If your timing is right you will be able to release a newly emerged butterfly by hand. From there proceed up the trail to the Hummingbird Garden.

At the Hummingbird Garden, the most species-diverse in the country, watch the territorial antics of the 16 different species known to frequent these gardens. After a hike to several of the beautiful waterfalls, have lunch on the outdoor dining terrace.
